Sustainability
This project was part of our Sustainability course during the second semester of our first year. We had to create posters for the Bioblitz event. Creating a website as well to advertise the event to students at John Abbott College. We were given a few requirements for the poster.
We needed to include QR codes for the iNaturalist app. Students could scan them to participate in the Bioblitz event. We also had to include a photo of the college. We could design the poster in any style, as long as it fit the event. The Bioblitz focused on nature and documenting different animals in and around Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.
I wanted the poster to reflect the theme of nature while keeping the campus photo as the main focus. I added animal SVGs to show what type of event it was. The animals I chose are often found in the area, which helped connect the poster to the local environment.
I used different shades of green to keep the natural theme. I also chose a font that matched a forest and nature aesthetic. These choices helped create a design that fit the Bioblitz theme without overcrowding the poster with other content.
